Saburo Jinguji (神宮寺 三郎) is the titular protagonist of the Detective Jinguuji Saburo series.
Story[]
Saburo was born as the third son of Haruhiko Jinguji, president of the international company Jinguji Concern. After graduating from university, he decided not to take over from his father and moved to the United States alone, where he accumulated know-how while working as a detective's assistant in NY. After returning to Japan, he opened the Jinguji Detective Agency in Kabukicho, Shinjuku.
Saburo is a man with a sharp mind and full of action, and though he acts cool he also has a fragile side to him. He is trusted by people from the underworld and also good friends with inspector Sanzo Kumano, who became his drinking partner. Thanks to his information network and his trusted assistant Yoko Misono, Saburo got a good track record of solving various difficult cases. Saburo is also a chain smoker, often seen smoking cigarettes even during his investigations.
