Fighter's History: One-Shot Crisis Mizoguchi!!) is a spin-off title in the Fighter's History series, partially being a port of Fighter's History Dynamite on Super Famicom. The game is known for making the series's breakout character, Mizoguchi, the protagonist.

Story[]

CPU Battle[]

"Dear Chosen Fighters...

On behalf of the silly martial artist who claims to be the messenger of the gods, I hereby announce the opening of the "Last Great Grapple"! The only reason I chose you is because I will prove my power to the whole world by defeating you!! If you are confident that you can win, you should participate. The winner will be rewarded with even more honor and wealth."

"C", who have trained further, awaits for the participation of the selected fighters.

Mizoguchi[]

In front of Mizoguchi, who loves Naniwa, the symbol of Naniwa, "Takoyaki Shop Naniwa No. 1", is stolen! The culprit is a mysterious man who emits a dull light from his whole body. So what is his real purpose? Mizoguchi sets out on a journey to recover the billboard with information from the mysterious fighter!

Overview[]

The game has five different forms of play: story, CPU battle, versus, extra, and survival mode. The extra mode is tag-team battle system that allows one - four players to pit their skills against one another. Survival, despite its name, also follows this format but lessens the playing field to two players with five man teams. The CPU Battle is an arcade mode similar to Fighter's History Dynamite except it makes Karnov the penultimate boss, makes Chelnov the final boss, and removes five characters from the series's roster (Ray, Matlok, Samchay, Jean, and Marstorius).

The story mode is a gag-adventure story which stars Mizoguchi. Out on a leisurely outing, he takes a break to enjoy his town's specialty: takoyaki (or octopus balls). Before he can place an order, he is confronted by a mysterious man who challenges him to prove the snack's worth against the whole world. After the man disappears in a flash of light, Mizoguchi is somehow provoked enough to search the globe's octopus dishes and to prove that Osaka has the best takoyaki in the world. He does this by awkwardly interrogating the series's characters although he usually misinterprets their explanations as insults or puns.
